Women Sniffing Shorts is Sexism
According to this Danish news article, the Danish consumer ombudsman has ruled that four adverts for men's underwear are derogatory to women.
Apparently, some pissed off feminist nurses didn't like the ads from JBS, because a half-naked nurse holds a pair of shorts up to her nose.
I wrote about the controversy back in October 2007, but just recently came the Danish ombudsman to a conclusion.
JBS quickly removed the much-criticized ads from its website, though my original blog post about the controversy still shows the forbidden pictures.
The ads are actually aesthetically beautiful, and I believe that I am the target of those ads, not some highly sensitive dinosaur nurses.
The truth is that no-one would give a damn if it was a half-naked man sniffing thongs.
This was also the reason I posted the pictures in the first place. Who are they to decide how a clothing manufacturer may tempt me to buy its products? I wear another brand anyway.
The campaign slogan says it all: 'Men don't want to look at naked men.'
Me neither. So, here's another one of those JBS ads with naked women in shorts along with a TV commercial below:
Don't forget to read and watch the 'JBS Controversy, Chapter 2'.
